Cessna 170-B For Sale In Southern Maryland
This Airplane Has Been Sold. Thanks So Much For Your Interest!!!!
This 1955 Cessna 170-B has been my hobby and preoccupation since 1969. It was always well treated and has been reliable and easy to care for. Inactive since 1999, (during to and fro with FAA medical reviews) the aircraft has been maintained here in Southern Maryland.
It has well weathered paint, complete but older instrumentation, nav-com, audio panel, transponder with altitude encoder, and circuit breakers. The aircraft sports Goodyear Crosswind Landing Gear which is great for convenience and safety. The engine had a complete custom overhaul with top shops and services including all accessories and new mufflers and stacks in 1996. All logs, many spares and removed items saved for patterns, and comprehensive Cessna publications are with the aircraft.
It has 1960 hours total time airframe and engine, 98 hours total time since major overhaul. Preparations for an annual inspection are underway but my longstanding mechanic and aircraft inspector have both recently moved. This complicates the sale situation.
Sale to a fellow 170 enthusiast who can move the aircraft home under a ferry permit would be ideal. The aircraft is fully functional on that basis. The intended sale price has been reduced in consideration of this to $28,000. E-mail the owner for details, equipment list, and condition if you are interested in this fine old airplane. Happy Landings!
I have been steadily responding to inquiries about this plane. This page (click here) summarizes those responses and add some additional information and pictures. I will update this page as required to provide everyone with the most complete information.
